Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment and positively impacting our communities where we do business.PRIMARY PURPOSEPrimary responsibility is to support the daily operation of Oxy Deepwater Gulf of Mexico subsea tiebacks and associated systems, while enhancing value through identification of system modification opportunities to support operations and production goals.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Point of contact for one or more offshore facilities supporting subsea system operational issues and interfaces Review and assess Subsea Leak Detection System (SSLD) and implement performance-based updates Interface with Facilities and Production to support SSLD surveillance system updates for brownfield and greenfield applications Support production engineer with assessment and closeout of SSLD surveillance system alarms Conduct surveillance of the subsea system through data trends and analysis (SEEQ) and interaction with the production and operations teams Identify and coordinate investigation of anomalies and failures within subsea control and production systems and maintain historic records in the Asset Tracking Register database. Manage troubleshooting and light intervention work scopes including scheduling, cost management, procedure development, and execution Work closely with production engineers and offshore operations to identify areas of improvement, including subsea hardware, control systems, and operator HMI and software interfaces Recommend subsea system improvements or upgrades, and prepare and present the value case to receive project approval from stakeholders Participate within internal and external multi-discipline engineering reviews and risk reviews Contribute to development and / or implementation of subsea system obsolescence management strategies Develop and provide training on subsea equipment and hardware to offshore production operations teams Develop relationships with 3rd party contractors and offshore operations teams to enable safe and effective project deliveries and problem resolution Provide leadership for top tier HSE performance, demonstrating Oxy LiveSafe values Communicate project performance to stakeholdersREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or similar Engineering degreeProfessional/Technical Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications: Experience: Minimum 15 years of Gulf of Mexico subsea and offshore engineering experience Required: 1 years direct experience supporting GOM Oxy offshore facilities Preferred experience with software and control systems including standard industry offshore subsea protocols, and common topsides interfaces Preferred experience with offshore support, both in-situ offshore and remoteSkills & Competencies: Direct experience developing, rolling-out, and technically supporting a PLC-based Gulf of Mexico Subsea Leak Detection (SSLD) system Experience planning and leading control system hardware and software updates on offshore platforms Experience witnessing and performing software/control system Factory Acceptance Tests Detailed knowledge of Subsea Control Modules including developing and leading troubleshooting and diagnostics efforts Basic knowledge of subsea production system hardware and interfaces with the control system Good technical writing skills including experience writing detailed test and execution procedures Good knowledge of system surveillance and SEEQ trend analysis Good knowledge of P&IDs, electrical and hydraulic schematics, general assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams Basic knowledge of GOM regulatory requirements for subsea systems Able to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment* Good working knowledge required of Visual Basic, PLC Studio 5000, Wonderware InTouch, SMACS5 and SMACS6 VTS Trihedral, SEEQ, Modbus, Windows Powershell, Networking and IP addressingRelocation: This position is not eligible for relocation.Occidental does not offer sponsorship of employment-based nonimmigrant visa petitions for this role.Occidental is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
