Job descriptionReporting to the Engineering Project Manager you are responsible for the design coordination within the gas portfolio or project for all FEED and detailed designs within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projects for the Gas Transmission and Distribution sectorsThese projects will range from Concept Design (BP135G) to Execution Design (T/PM/G/35) and (GD/PM/G/17)The projects will be for specific to the Gas Transmission sector predominantly for the UK compressor station infrastructureYou are responsible to manage and complete the engineering and design within budget and planning. This includes change control and consistency of the design with the other disciplines and projects within the frameworkYou are responsible for the quality of the designs against current client standards and specificationsYou will participate in internal and external design reviews and you are responsible for the design acceptance by the client as per the standard T/PM/G/35 & GD/PM/G/17Depending on size and complexity you may be design coordinator for one project, or for a portfolio of projects within the Gas businessMake independent decisions on issues, providing expert technical support within the Engineering and Design teamYou are responsible for leading and driving quality in all Engineering designs and projects including, the checking and approval of discipline design deliverables to company proceduresYou shall be able to effectively carry out, check and approve Engineering and Design estimates, control and report all costs on allocated projects in terms of progress, scope change and man hoursYour profile If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting youMore than 5 years of experience as a Design Coordinator, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in the Gas Transmission and/or Distribution sectorDeep knowledge of EC&I engineering and design is preferred, but you also have a sound knowledge of the other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Process)Deep knowledge of the Gas Transmission and Distribution standards and specifications for all disciplines, specifically focused around the compressor stationsMEng / BEng / HNC / HND in EngineeringChartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred)CDM Principal Designer (Preferred)Result oriented. You are only satisfied after your design is accepted by the client, you delivered top quality and the client is very satisfied with the performance of you and your teamYou plan and organise your activities before you allow your team to start spending hours.
