The aim is to expand and develop a dedicated team, of which the role holder will be a key and founding member.What you\u2019ll do:\nLiaise with local Inchcape port agency offices and designated clients in the handling of day-to-day customs clearance operations.Request necessary export or import documentation, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, Bills of Lading etc.Create and submit import and export declarations using the customs declaration system, ASM Sequoia.Access CHIEF directly for updating and managing customs entries.Access Port Community systems to assist local port offices with the manifesting of vessels and cargo.Manage the customs implications for domestic UK cruises such as identifying applicable voyages, calculating the duty and tariff payments owed on bonded store consumption and submission of W50 Form.Act as lead point of contact to respond to general enquiries from existing and potential customers and Inchcape UK port agency offices concerning customs and documentation formalities.Keep up to date with changes in regulations and customs procedures.Ensure customs software is up to date with latest versions, requesting updates from IT department when required.\nWho you are:\nIn-depth knowledge of customs processes, procedures and regulations.\n\nExperience of using customs software.An understanding of shipping documentation.\n\nHolds a Customs qualification (desirable) or willing to work towards qualification.Proven experience of working within a customs role, ideally within a shipping environment.Eligibility to work in the UK.Flexibility for out of hours working as\/where business dictates.Full UK Driving Licence.Willingness to travel across UK to visit Inchcape port agency offices, meet with customers etc.\nWhy Inchcape Shipping Services?We believe in building a diverse and\u00A0high performing workforce, that works together to provide our customers with the exceptional service they deserve.
