The company provides engineering and construction services to the minerals industry, specifically focussing on continental & eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Africa.Role Outline/ ResponsibilitiesPreparation of 3D models and 2D drawings to applicable CAD and design standards and procedures.Preparation of design models and drawings for plant layout, piping and related components for mineral processing, materials handling, chemical, metallurgical, hydrometallurgical and battery metals processing facilities as well as site and ancillary facilities for engineering studies and design engineering contracts.Preparation of design models and drawings of equipment assemblies, general arrangements, profiles, sections, hazardous areas, access and egress, pipe routing, cable routing, conveyors, process flow diagrams, process instrument diagrams site plans etc.Participation in the plant design process on project tasks ranging from high level scoping study through to detailed engineering contracts for construction, including Multidiscipline design reviews and integrating vendor information in the design.Interpretation and application of information provided by process, civils, structural, electrical, and piping, and any other necessary discipline to the plant layout and mechanical design.Review and interpretation of design information provided by vendors and application of that information into the plant layout and mechanical design.Understand and apply the standards and regulations that apply to plant and mechanical design such as CDM, Machinery Directive, CE Marking, DSEAR, ATEX,Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:An HNC in applicable engineering discipline or time served experience in an industrial drawing office environment, or progressive development from a recognised trade to CAD design.Proficiency on 2D AutoCADProficiency on an established 3D plant design package such as Aveva E3D.Good working knowledge of 3D mechanical design packages such as Autodesk Inventor.Good working knowledge of MS word and MS excel.Good interpersonal and communication skillsCAD design experience in one or more of the following industries: chemical processing, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, power, mining, mineral processing, materials handling, automotive, battery metals, rail,CAD design experience one or more of the following disciplines: mechanical, piping, civils, structural or architectural.Desirable:At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in an industrial design environment.Experience in design in an industrial EPCM project environment.Experience in the design and layout of chemical plants, mineral processing plants, material handling plants and battery metals plants.Experience in the design and layout of OEM equipment and packages.Experience in the design of piping systems and piping layouts.Experience in the design of fabricated items such as tanks, silos, hoppers, and chutes.Experience in the design of conveyors.Accountabilities:Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that functional project requirements on scope, time and cost are met.Carry out design activities and calculations, including the production of 2D and 3D CAD drawings, schedules, other documents, manhour estimates for CAD work, interpreting clients’ technical specifications and other related activities, to meet project requirements.Ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.Develop own engineering experience and skills, moving towards the capability to move to a more senior role and towards professional qualification.Work ArrangementMain office location will be Stockton-On-Tees office.Mobility & flexibility to travel and work away, locally and internationally from the home office base will be required.Work-from-Home flexibilityRange and Scope of Activities:Interface with designers and engineering from all disciplinesCarry out design activities at client site as required, to meet individual project or client needs.Level of Discretion:Plans and prioritises own workEscalate any issues that affect task delivery.Checks work of more junior engineers and designersCommunication and contacts:Must communicate effectively with peers across disciplines, and more senior engineers, on tasks and other day to day issues, in verbal and written format
