Job DescriptionJob Profile SummaryResponsible for providing specialist Process engineering expertise to site technical teams or operations, including maintenance, inspection and turnaround, proactively interacting with other disciplines, teams, sub-functions and contractors to systematically resolve problems and applying advanced engineering judgement to assist in setting and implementing engineering technical practices, and drive integrated, pragmatic solutions focused on risk management, operating efficiency, defect elimination and standardisation.Job AdvertAs a Senior Process Engineer in Refining Performance Unit Health Monitoring (UHM) you will function in a Squad / Team Lead capacity and will manage the day-to-day work of the squad, delivering monthly unit health monitoring reports (including findings and recommended actions) to bp’s refineries.You will be working as part of a global team and supporting bp’s worldwide refining portfolio and will need to work closely with unit engineers based in refinery support teams, as well as technology subject matter experts, around the world. In order to be successful, you will therefore need to be self-motivated and capable of managing a team remotely and virtually within the geographically dispersed team.You also will report directly to the Integrated Engineering Services manager within Engineering, Maintenance, & Reliability in bp Solutions.You will have the opportunity to be based out of any of bp’s refineries or hub’s (Naperville, IL; Houston, TX; Sunbury, UK). Location will be determined based on business needs as well as preference of the successful candidate.About the role:Some of your key accountabilities will include:Functioning in a “working” role with squad leadership responsibilities.Providing clear day-to-day direction to the squad in-line with the backlog and mission (providing unit health monitoring to bp’s refineries)Maintaining and prioritizing the squad’s activity backlogDriving implementation and standardization of Remote UHM Work PracticeAccountability for keeping AIMS tool (our digital tool for process unit health monitoring currently being expanded across multiple technologies) and UHM reports up to date based on best practice updates as well as unit changes.Advocating to the refineries about the UHM recommendations and escalating if needed to drive resolutionAbout you:In addition to significant experience in an engineering or engineering leadership role, you will also need to demonstrate:Strong refining technology/operations background.Understanding of work processes required to manage and document process unit health risks.Excellent communications and leadership skills with the ability to direct team activities and to interact with site customers as well as technical SMEs within bp Solutions.Detail-oriented approach and ability to keep multiple tasks moving simultaneously.Familiarity with agile work (and tools).High levels of technical and interpersonal skills (including mentoring and coaching) are requiredStrong customer focus—understanding the needs of our customers and delivering solutions based on those needs.
