You will take ownership of research of development projects to develop new solutions to old Oil and Gas materials challenges. You will prototype and analyze the performance of potential technologies.As an Organic Chemist, you will be responsible for:Conducting research and experiments to analyze data and test hypotheses to gain an understanding of products and processesApplying sophisticated scientific understanding to research or development problems to provide inventive solutions toward new development effortsCollaborating with research and manufacturing functions throughout product development cycle projects to ensure successful project deliveryCommunicating research results to stakeholders through reports and presentationsCreating and protecting intellectual property for our company to ensure ownership of our products and designsWorking in R&D, product modification, product scale-up, and chemistry troubleshootingFuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:Have PhD in ChemistryHave 3 years experience in multistep organic synthesis and preferably some experience in polymer chemistryHave the ability to develop new test methods for in-depth product characterizationShow a solid understanding of chemical structure-property relationshipsBe able to show excellent problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skillsDemonstrate a basic understanding of project managementHave excellent written and verbal English skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environmentBe able to travel to visit customers or Baker Hughes locationsAs part of our commitment to the health & safety of our employees, customers and the communities in which we operate, this role requires full vaccination for COVID-19 prior to beginning work.Work in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
