Quantity SurveyorBurnleyPermanent£35,000 - £55,000 (DOE)The ClientOur client is a world leader in providing specialist field joint coating services to the onshore and offshore services for all major pipeline construction contractors (Oil & Gas) who have earned a reputation for quality, performance, reliability in the services of the company.The RoleTo maximize the company’s sales and profitability through accurately executed contracts & cost opportunities, whilst minimizing any risk and working capital.The Responsibilities Commercially manage multiple projects from receipt of award until final account stage and in conjunction with Project Delivery Manager, assume responsibility for delivery of the expected GM % rate Review and interpret contracts ensuring compliance and with the aim to ensure maximum potential is realised. Review commercial documents, including profitability overview, revenue, cost and margin forecasts, applications & invoices, raising and submit variation orders for the client in agreement in accordance with the contract. Build positive relationships with customers to improve opportunities of repeat business and additional scopes. Resolving any invoice dispute in a timely manner, liaising with customer to secure payment in line with contract terms. Review daily site reports to support forecasting as well as application submissions to customers prior to billing. Prepare & populate revenue, revenue accruals, reserves to the project cost account on a monthly basis ensuring Revenue Recognition policy is followed, with support from Finance if any clarification is required. Ensure a summary of the position of each contract is prepared (Revenue Recognition | Unbilled Revenue | Deferred Revenue) providing explanation of any variances to forecast for revenue during the month end close process. Forecasting of financials in line with business requirements to include Revenue, Cost/ Margin & Cash flow. Undertake detailed formal project reviews monthly to understand and explain profitability compared to bid and forecast, to seek out opportunities/risks but also provide feedback to project delivery and proposals teams to take decisive action to mitigate any overspend/provide accurate pricing. Present project profitability to Senior Management Team monthly. Support with ad hoc analysis of projects as and when requiredEducation Required: Graduate/Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor (Desirable) Accounting and Finance knowledgeWork Experience Background in commercial is essential | construction is preferred. Previous experience of managing a multimillion-dollar P&L.
