Ford & Stanley - The Engineering Recruitment Experts are working with a leading product certification business to bring in a senior engineering project manager/engineering programme manager to oversee a number of integral projects that will ensure the business doubles its revenue in the next 5 years.The Opportunity – My client is the world leader in product certification and has two testing facilities in the UK that house specialist engineering rigs to perform testing to industry standards.You will be managing a team of 12 and will be controlling 30-50 engineering projects across the year, that fall into a number of categories; replacing old machines for new (either through 3rd parties or built-in house), upgrading existing machines to test against new standards or developing of new machines and general maintenance.Location: Loughborough or Hemel Hempstead (with travel to the other site)Role and Responsibilities:Management of the Asset Development Project Managers & Development team across both sites (Loughborough and Hemel Hempstead)Process Management – Manage the capital expenditure process from start to finish each year, broken into three phases of Pre-project, Live Environment and Closing out a project, in line with the Prince2 framework.Managing expectations – Navigate the business's expectations by accessing the success of delivery for each 12-month period. Where required be able to demonstrate additional resourcing to complete works in agreed time frames.Innovation and large project – Control large scale or innovation projects that breach the upper limits of the Project Managers' workload or skill set. Working directly with the labs on the concept of innovation to ensure Return on Investment prior delegation to the Project Managers.Complex projects – Facilitate/Manage the contractor management process on complex/large projects, including design, tendering, awarding, contract management and CDM management.Technical support – Meet weekly with the Project Managers through structured reporting to guide and release bottle necks.
