We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a well-respected and leading manufacturing company based just outside Rochdale centre.This role does require previous experience working in a fast production/manufacturing environment as you will be required to provide full mechanical service and maintenance to the shop floor machinery.This position is based on site at Rochdale but in the near future, will require you to work at the Heywood site also, as such flexibility is essential.Monday to Friday 7am - 3.30pm.£18per hourDuties & Responsibilities:The diagnosis, location and rectification of all mechanical faults on-site, including, pneumatic, hydraulic and steam systems.Ensure all papermaking machinery and ancillary equipment is maintained in safe working order.Logging of all water, oil and gas readings and testing of steam boiler safety devices. Responding to emergency situations in a timely and effective manner.Carry out all tasks in accordance with Quality systems, hygiene standards and safe working practices.Adhere to current Safe Systems of Work, lock off and permit to work procedures.To plan out work whilst displaying initiative at all times.Maintain high standards of housekeeping.Skills and experience:Apprentice trained 3 / 4 years to a qualification of BTEC ONC / C&G level 3 / NVQ level 3 or equivalent (mandatory)Knowledge of diaphragm, gear, mono and vane pumps (ideal)Confined space, FLT, MEWP, driving licence certification or licence (beneficial)Previous experience working in a fast paced production environmentUnfortunately due to a high number of applicants, only those that are shortlisted for this position will be contacted.
